Alright, I'm wanting to build a car website. I need some input from the public.

Type of site: Non-car specific website.

As for the content of the site, I want it to have everything automotive on it... in other words, like a one stop auto information portal. I want to have forums on it. I'm going to have tons of information on how a car works, and operates and cover all the parts of a internal combustion engine.

So, I'm asking you, to ask yourself.... 'If I were to want all automotive information at one location on the web, what would I want to see on it?'

What kind of information should it have?
What type of forums would you expect to be on it?
Any type of downloadable materials?
Anything additional???

I'd like to see a cross between the click and clack car guys show and a hyper technical manufacturer specific help forum for serious industry techs.

usually vehicle specific stuff can be found in pertinant forums as far as general repair goes.

I'm mainly interested in grass roots automotive..no nascar or even rockcrawling for that matter. I think even 'ghost riding the whip" is too played out by now.

That sounds cool, but there are soooooooo many tangents that your site would have to facilitate. There are way too many different types of forums out there for lighting, motor size, import, domestic, street, show, racing, etc. the list goes on. So I wouldn't focus on forums. Point is you can't please everybody. But you can have a site that is more universal. If you are talking information. The ability to select a persons' exact vehicle (model, engine size, etc.) and bring up useful information like: wiring diagrams, engine specifics, all arounld vehicle information, known dynos if available, link to osram sylvania, links to sites like this one specific to that vehicle, things like that are what come to mind. good luck!
