Here is CO there is a bunch of snow. I live up against the foothills and there is at least 1.5ft of snow. It is great. I love the snow and really enjoy driving in it if there aren't other cars around.... So I have been going out in it. So far I have towed 6 people.

The Xterra is F'ing awesome. I pulled out a bunch of hondas or similar cars... but one was a Lexus that high centered on the snowplow banks trying to get into a gas station.... She was this sweet little lady; I felt really bad for her. She was definately happy to see me so she could get home (it was like 10pm)

...but the best was the Jeep Wrangler I pulled out. He was nice and all...but it just made me smile because I kept thinking "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" the whole time I was helping him. He was really cool and didn't have that sticker though.

Anyway, I thought I would share how awesome the Xterra is in the snow! :santa:

I hear you all got hammered.
yes we did.
first time in a long time that the all major highways have been closed.
Still snowing and blowing here on the north side of the Springs.
The way the wind is blowing makes the drifts are very interesting though:
against the back of the house and up to the middle of the yard you can still see grass/rock, (good for the dogs to go out in) but against the fence 4' drift.
Neighbor across the street has the same drift up against her front door.
play time starts shortly
3 4x4's here: which one gets stuck first?

A guy driving a Jeep!!! It seems that 'Silly Boys - Jeeps are for Girls' sticker truely applies here in AZ. 9 out of 10 jeeps I see on the road are driven by chicks.

Can't wait for some white stuff in Northen AZ, so we can drive up and play.

Might be true, but around here 9.5 out of 10 Xterras are driving by women.

Jeeps are great vehicles. After yesterday and today I think Nissan needs to use me for advertising. I pulled out F-150 pick-ups, an Outback, it has been great. And everyone keeps saying... man that thing really works great in this snow.

Here is a picture of my Xterra this morning. It started snowing yesterday early in the morning, like 2am, and I got home from the grocery store at 11pm... this is just snow that collected in a 10hr period.

Yes, it is fun to rescue stuck vehicles in the snow. I did it a few times in my old '02, and can't wait to do it with my '06.

Just make sure that when you're recovering stuck cars that you wrap the tow strap around the back axle or frame, not the bumper, like this guy did: Snow Tow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF693eh9mUU). But I'm sure you all know to be careful when towing someone out.

this might sound kind of dumb but if you dont have the tow package on your X what should you hook your tow strap to? then where exactly on the car you are towing?

I have some kind of attachment same as what the car haulers use to crank em down. Got it at the place they re paint car hauler trailers.

But I always let them hook their vehicle and make them understand they are responsible for any damage that may be caused by me helping them. Then if they hook to a stupid spot, I diplomatically ask some questions until they hook it somewhere better.

On a Never looked at it. I know there is a lot of frame there, but not too much right handy if you are using a strap with no hook like you should.

I hook them up, tow hooks or around the frame when I tow someone, mainly because I don't want them doing a poor job and then the strap breaking loose and come flying at me and damaging my X.
