TOTM Rules:

Truck of the Month (TOTM) will be two parts. Starting the first day of the month, a submission thread will be started and users can start posting their picture. The submission thread will close at midnight of the last day of the month. At this time a voting poll will be created for the users to vote on their favorite picture/truck. The voting will last 7 days, at which time a winner will be announced. If after the closing of the poll there is a tie, there will be a 2 day vote off between the tied submissions. The winner will have his/her photo displayed on the front home page of the site until a new winner is picked.

1. Submit only vehicles you own (or have permission to drive).
2. You may only submit one vehicle a month.
3. Submit just one picture of the vehicle. If more than one photo is submitted, the first one posted will be chosen for voting. If you would like to change the photo you have submitted, please edit your original post.
4. Photos can be of any truck in any setting, but please try and make the photo interesting. If it’s a driveway shot, shoot from an interesting angle. You should be able to tell what the vehicle is in the photo, but the entire vehicle does not need to be in the photo.
5. Please give the following details about your vehicle;
...a. Make
...b. Model
...c. Year
...d. Color
...e. Mod List
6. Please do not post any photos unless it is an entry in the contest.
7. Please keep the chit-chat down. If you would like to discuss someone’s truck, please start a new thread in the appropriate forum.
8. Winners may not enter again until the following year.
9. Any photo may be removed from the submission thread by the moderation group for any reason and the admin/mod’s have final say. Examples of photos that may be removed;
...a. Photos showing dangerous situation for the driver, by standards or the vehicle it’s self.
...b. Photos showing damage to the environment or structures.
...c. Photos depicting inappropriate activities. Keep the photos PG please!
...d. Any other reason we see fit.
10. Have fun.

At the end of the year we will take all of the winners and put them up against one another to have the Truck Of The Year (TOTY) selected. That winner will get some kind of award and their truck will be placed on the home page.

This contest is open to all trucks from stock to super modified, 2wd and 4wd. So get out there and get those photos. The better the photo the better the chance of you winning. Please do not risk harm or injury to yourself, your vehicle, the environment, etc. If you have a submission that boarders on that, the admin/mod team will determine if it should be allowed for submission.

Hey Doeboy, if you have photo editing software, you should definitely think about rotating the photo so that the ocean is horizontally level across the photo. The three-wheelin photo right now is pretty cool, but when you get the photo levled out, you'll see that your angle were much more dramatic.

thanks a lot. i took at look at the tread lightly site a little bit ago too. i totaly can see where everyone is coming from now. i knew to some extent of the environmental awarness in offroading, but didnt realize its meaning to the site because of my oblivion and noobie knowledge. i hope im not sounding like a broken record, but i just hope every understand where im coming from in the situation. im sure most do. what ever happens happens. thanks again
Norcalxterra, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Admins and Moderators have discussed your submission for September's TOTM and have reluctantly decided to disqualify it for consideration in this month's TOTM polling.

As a publicly-accessed web site this photo, however great it is, is contrary to the stated policies of TheNewX.org which is to promote and protect off-road vehicle use and to be an advocate of 'Tread Lightly'; which is to prevent further closures of off-road access.

As you submission would likely be the winner it would be contradictory for TheNewX.org to display such a photo for the whole of October on the home page whilst promoting a 'Tread Lightly' approach to off-road use.

All depictions of this photo and the previous thread (The Weekend Warriors of Northern California (http://thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11868)) will be taken down.

...well i cant do much about that. i am really sorry if i have caused any controversy to the site. this was not my intentions at all. its good to know that this would have been the winner but i am not going to argue with tread lightly rules. this has been a learning experience for me for sure and i appreciate everyones understandings in my position. its a bummer that it had to come to this. no hard feelings.

well i guess ill give it another shot. just a picture of a hill climb i did. thats the actual agnle of the hill at the very top. it was a beast to climb but the x never fails :)
