Factory Bluetooth with an aftermarket stereo

I have a double din stereo that I want to replace my factory RF stereo with and was just wondering if I pull the factory CD player out is this going to screw up my factory bluetooth aswell? The cd player I'm putting in does have built in bluetooth but I personally think the factory bluetooth works better. If it does screw up the factory bluetooth would it be possible for me to use the mic that came built in my xterra with my aftermarket cd player? Thanks for any help and sorry if this isn't posted in the right place?

Yes if you remove the factory radio the bluetooth will not work right away. You will need a steering wheel control interface module. What is the make and model of the new radio?

The new head unit is a JVC KW-AVX830 and I have ordered the Metra ASWC Steering Wheel Interface and am just waiting for it to come in before I do the install. So if I have the steering wheel interface my factory bluetooth should work?

No...if your aftermarket head unit has bluetooth then, with the ASWC, the OEM controls should be able to be adapted to control the aftermarket head unit's bluetooth functions.

Most likely not as the plugs are different. You might b able to splice it in but you're asking for sound quality issues.

The Metra ASWC Steering Wheel Interface will not work for the 2010 X. It will control the volume and track skip but it will not work for the bluetooth due to the fact the 2010 X has a separate bluetooth module under the passenger seat. You will run in to 2 problems with the ASWC. It will not control the bluetooth as I stated above and it will not go into programing mode.

The only one I have found that will work for 2010 X is PAC Audio. With your JVC this part will work SWI-JACK but you will have to rewire the bluetooth module. Here are the instructions on how to rewire and program the unit.

Code:

I guess so...I've installed several of the ASWC's..but none on an 09+ Xterra w/ bluetooth so I cannot say if it will work or not. They advertise it as being able to work...but that's all I can say. Lordtie has so I'd take his word for it and go off his recommendation.
