Gun Vault Mod

So my school sent out an email of their revised firearms policy - essentially, screw you if you have a CFP. They even tried to say you can't have a gun in your car if it's parked in the lot - something that is explicitly allowed under Utah law thanks to HB 357.

So I'm thinking about getting a gun safe installed. Has anyone done this before?

I keep the NRA stickers off the car and no one asks questions. Used to have a big one but I saw the light. Still a life member.

This would fit in the hidden storage compartment in the rear hatch between the utilitracks:

Sorry, I was talking about getting a vault that fits inside the center console, not bolted to the floor of the cargo deck. While that's a cool mod, I want something hidden that I can get to from the driver's seat.

What about the "hidden" compartment below the cup holders? You could rig up a holster in there w/ some heavy duty velcro or something. As I'm assuming you're not LEAVING your firearm in your vehicle while you're away..right? Otherwise what's the point of even taking it out of the house? Plus you're just ASKING for it to get stolen (even if locked up in a safe..those utilitrack rails aren't strong at all).

Ha, I'd bet there's a 1 firearm in every 5 vehicle out here.. UT aint Illinois.

BTW.. I'm researching a bit more. I'm quite certain that the school has ZERO ability to tell you that you cannot CC. UT is one of the best states for firearm laws and conceal carry.. I'm 98% sure that whatever school you are attending, they are illegally telling you to leave your firearm in your vehicle.

I'll post up what I find. What school do you go to?
