"Entry Level" Mods & Tips

I've got a bone-stock 2014 Xterra Pro-4x; what are some recommended entry-level mods/adds/upgrades/bolt-ons? I'm somewhat limited in what I can do as this is a "company" car on a lease that I'll have to eventually turn in and might not get the chance to purchase when the lease is up but at the same time, if I can do some easy things that wont permanently change it, I might be able to do some things.

Thanks.

IMS seems to be #1 on list of bolts ons. Fog light bypass, locker by pass (?) couple of freeish ones I can think of. I haven't done either because I don't have fog lights or the E-locker installed haha

Well first, what are your goals? Are you trying to make it more off-road worthy?

Technically, most the suspension pieces are "bolt-on"...

Check this post and do a search - there is lots of info on this already: Budget Mods

IMS / CAI / Simple suspension lift <2 " / (some) sliders / tuner / skids are all items that can be easily removed and sold if you keep the stock parts in storage.

Hood rod mod and rear hatch struts. Both make them open higher and will make all subsequent mods soooo much easier without hitting your head.

Non-permanent high-gain mods:
Hood Rod Mod $
McMaster Rear Hatch Struts $
LED reverse bulb swap $
Cold Air Intake $$$
OEM Rubber or Weathertech floor mats $$
Maglight mount to center console bucket lid $
Rear Diff Breather mod $
Firestone Rear Airbags $$

Happy Modding. Enjoy your X.

I'm in the same boat ... my second X, a 2015 Pro-4X ... I had a 2006 for 10 years before it died on me. I want to turn this X into an overland vehicle. I plan to put a new front bumper and a full set of skid plates on it, but am curious what suspension mod to add to counteract the sag all that extra weight will cause. I don't want to lift it just for the sake of lifting it, but I've read, on this forum, that something needs to be done if a Shrockworks (or similar) bumper is installed, otherwise, the nose of the vehicle will dive whenever the brakes are applied ... any suggestions on the best suspension mod?

Thanks

Rear diff breather is super easy and cheap and useful. At a minimum that... and pull the mud flaps off.

Zball94- Plastic dip. It sucks how little rocks on the road rip it right off, but it clings like a butt nugget when you try to remove it purposely.

Just drive it. It is very capable as built.

Think more in the accessory department. Get a tow strap, maybe a set of max tracks. Stuff that is universal.

Keep in mind that lifting, big tires, racks and lights will kill fuel economy. A 2-6 MPG drop can happen real quick.
