Started the Money Dump

2 weeks into X ownership and I was itching to start working. I have alot of tlc to do before I start modding. Figured I start with the rear bumper. I targeted the metal portion where the license plate hangs first. It was faded and showing small rust spots. Just plain fugly.

So prepped it and plasti dipped it a gray/silver. When it cures I will tape off and dip the plastic parts of the bumper satin black which I think will make the silver part really pop.

Wow that looks really nice. Good job! I'm going to follow this to see how the rest turns out.

Yeah it was my chance to kill 2 birds with one stone. Pulled it off while prepping the bumper.

Thanks I appreciate it. It wasn't hard but tedious. Wiping, taping, wiping etc... more time prepping than painting for sure. Can't wait for the black paint to go down so it really looks good.

Oh and added note. I don't know if anyone has tried this before but if not I took one for the team. It worked really really well. I would recommend it to anyone. It was cheap but effective.

Blue Xterra's always look sweet... but I may be a bit biased. Nice work on the bumper!

Looks good. I like the color you chose, comes close to matching the plastics.
